Gaes is a photographer
living in Hamburg. In "Wigs&Gloves" she works with
drag, burlesque, queerlesque, variety, cabaret, circus, belly
dance and acrobatics - artists who work with performances in a
diversity of gender. Her work has been presented in renowned
exhibitions, including the Museum Schloss Herrenhausen in
Hannover, the Kolga Festival in Georgia, the Triennial of
Photography in Hamburg, Unseen Amsterdam and the Darmstadt Days
of Photography. Julia is a member of the Futures Photography
Network, a network of emerging artists in the field of
photography, after being nominated by the Triennial of
Photography of the Deichtorhallen Hamburg. She completed her
studies in photography with a Bachelor of Arts under Prof. Axel
Grünewald and Prof. Dr phil. Kirsten Wagner at the FH Bielefeld
and with a Master of Arts under Prof. Linn Schröder & Dr
